Which Countries Can't Apply to GetYourGuide Directly?

GetYourGuide currently blocks direct supplier applications from ten countries. The full list, why it happens, and what operators can do about it.

By OperatorGateway

If you run tours or activities in Türkiye, Egypt, Morocco, or a handful of other countries, you've probably already discovered the problem: GetYourGuide's own signup form simply won't let you through. It isn't a bug and it isn't temporary — it's a deliberate policy, and it's worth understanding exactly how it works before you spend more time trying to work around it on your own.

The restricted list

According to GetYourGuide's own Supply Partner Help Center, direct applications are currently blocked from:

  • Türkiye
  • Egypt
  • Morocco
  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Bangladesh
  • Kenya
  • Myanmar
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Tanzania

GetYourGuide classifies these as "restricted onboarding" markets. If you try to sign up as a supplier from an IP address, business address, or bank account tied to one of these countries, the application either gets rejected outright or never progresses past the initial review.

Why these countries specifically

GetYourGuide doesn't publish a country-by-country justification, but the pattern is consistent with how most large marketplaces (Amazon, Stripe, PayPal among them) handle "elevated business risk" jurisdictions: a mix of payment fraud exposure, KYC/AML verification difficulty, and inconsistent business registration standards across these markets. It's a platform-wide risk policy, not a judgment about any individual operator's legitimacy — plenty of excellent, well-run tour operators are based in every one of these ten countries.

What doesn't work

A few workarounds operators try on their own, and why they tend to fail or backfire:

  • Applying with a personal VPN and a foreign-sounding name. GetYourGuide's fraud detection doesn't stop at the sign-up form — it keeps checking IP address, device fingerprint, and payout bank details on an ongoing basis, not just at onboarding. An account that passes the initial signup but is later flagged gets suspended, often after real bookings and revenue are already at stake.
  • Using a friend or relative's account in an eligible country. This violates GetYourGuide's terms directly and puts the account owner — not you — at legal and financial risk if something goes wrong with a booking.
  • Waiting for the policy to change. It's been stable for years and there's no public signal it's being revisited soon.

What actually works

The durable fix is structural, not cosmetic: the account has to be genuinely yours from day one, opened in your own name, for your own business, with your own banking and verification behind it. Not a workaround layered on top of someone else's account. That's the entire premise behind what we do at OperatorGateway: we set up a legitimate GetYourGuide supplier account in your own name, and once it's live, the login, the payouts and the control are yours. No shared logins, no borrowed identities, no bought or rented accounts.

If you're an operator in one of the ten countries above and you've been selling through a middleman, a reseller, or not selling on GetYourGuide at all, get in touch — we can walk you through exactly how the process works for your situation.
